Highlighting three prominent composers from the American experimentalist tradition, guest curator Justin Bulava invites you to explore different perspectives on listening. Through very different means, these artists arrive at similar questions about our relationship to music, sound and the environment. Elements of indeterminacy, improvisation, and non-musical activity will help frame the experience.
Concertgoers will be free to walk around and to choose from several seating options, including lying down on the floor or sitting on carpet squares. Complimentary beer and wine will be available.
Presented in memory of Pauline Oliveros (1931–2016).
